LITERATURE FOR THE CAMPS

MISS BLACKETT’S appeal for literature for the military camps is deserving of every support. In every home are books, papers and magazines that are of interest and which would be welcomed by soldiers in camp, for camp life is monotonous. Mental stimulus and interest is essential to young men, and if ihey are to be kept cheerful they must have access to literature, because they have been engaged in reading for too long for them to drop the habit suddenly. A search over one’s bookshelves will reveal much that, could be given to the, camp libraries without loss to the home-front in reading.
