WANGANUI COMPETITIONS SATURDAY’S RESULTS The second series of games of the first round of the Wanganui Cricket Association second graoe competition were played on Saturday. The following is a summary of the play:—Band (123) beat Collegiate A (88); Collegiate B (170) drew with Wanganui (nine for 62); Technical Old Boys (125) beat Collegiate C (73): Aramoho (89) beat Technical College (75); United (145) beat Marist (87>. Some good performances were put. up both by batsmen and bowlers, E. % Barnett (T. 0.8. missing a century ' by one run and unfortunately just failing to be the first batsmen to win Mr. R. E. Cuthebertson’s trophy to be awarded to each batsman scoring a century. Nimmo (United) 58, Puddle (Marist.) 45, A. Crafar (Aramoho) 43 and R. Francis (Band) 40. also made good scores. Among the bowlers the 10l lowing obtained the best averages: Cameron (Marist), 8 for 34; Gannon (T. 0.8. j, seven for 18; Polson (Collegiate B), six for seven; R.
