ENEMY ACTIVITY ON WESTERN FRONT TROOP CONCENTRATIONS ON NORTH SEA COAST [By Tekgraph—Press Association—Copyright) Received Oct. 29, 6.30 p.m. PARIS, Oct. 28. The official radio commentator, discussing the overnight communique that all was quiet on the entire front, declared that enemy activity had considerably increased since yesterday. Raids were increasing in intensity east of Moselle and in the Forbach and Saarque mines regions, mostly by groups of 100 men. The German artillery fire had become systematic. It was no longer localised but was generalised and directed on the entire front. The German general staff apparently was seeking information and attempting to dislocate our firmly-established positions. There was a heavy concentration of troops east from Bremen, also considerable activity inside Germany. “What all this portends, come what may, we are ready,’’ he added. “Eighty French divisions and the British Army are ready to meet all eventualities.” Another Paris message says that information here confirms that the Nazis are concentrating troops on the North Sea coast between Bremen and Hamburg. The Times says that neutrals arriving from Germany report that numbers of troops are concentrating on Welhelmshaven and Cuxhaven. A high authority considers that the German concentrations near the coast of the North Sea are not. alarming, and adds that such movements are frequent, nor should the cutting of telephone wires cause apprehension.
