“Everlasting Punislimcnt" was the ’ subject of the lesson-sermon in all I Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, October 29. j The golden text was Ezek 18:31, "Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have sed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit; for why will ye die, o house of Israel?’’ Among the citations which comprised the lesson-sermon were lhe .following from the Bible: “Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and ’ that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin jto sin. Which say to the seers, see I not; and to the prophets, prophesy not. 'unto us right things, speak unro us | smooth things, prophesy deceits.” I (Isa. 30:1, .10). , Also the following passage from lhe (Christian Science textbook. “Science ■and Health with Key Io the Scrip- : lures,” by Mary Baker Eddy: “To I cause suffering as the result of sin, i is the means of destroying sin. Every [supposed pleasure in sin will furnish ‘more than its equivalent of pain, un■‘til belief in material life and sin is ■ ■ destroyed. To suppose that God forgives or punishes sin according as His mercy is sought or unsought, is to misj understand love and to make prayer lithe safety-valve for wrong doing.” (p. 6
