* GERMAN SUBMARINE FOUND GN GOODWIN SANDS [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] Received Oct. 27, 6.30 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 26. The shattered wreck of a German U-boat was discovered on the Goodwin Sands to-day. A total British tonnage of 22,000 has recently been reported sunk, but contraband control has arrested 28,000 tons of German shipping, so that Great Britain is 6000 tons to the good. Another German vessel scuttled herself to avoid capture. Since the beginning of the war at | least 30 neutral ships have been sunk, • and the Netherlands are anxious rej garding the fate of two of their ves- ! seis, both trading between neutral i ports, which are long overdue. ‘ Salvage workers and divers I worked all day. It is understood that no survivors were found.
