FIREWORKS ON SALE
GUY FAWKES AS USUAL SATURDAY OBSERVANCE Not even the war will save Wanganui households from being disturbed ] next Saturday morning by cries of "Guy Fawkes Guy!" The importing o£ fireworks has not yet been interfered with by the hostilities and children will still be able to celebrate. Since November 5 falls on a Sunday ! this year, Guy Fawkes will be observed on the Saturday before. Import restrictions, however, will cause a shortage of tireworks, but both retailers and wholesalers have experienced no difficulty in getting the full quota allowed by their licences. To ensure their supplies for next Saturday night, many intending celebrators in Wanganui bought their fireworks this week.
