Loader, J's.P., ? the Taihape r Magistrate’s Court on a charge of L ’ being idle and disorderly without any " lawful means of support. The accused e • pleaded not guilty. J I Constable W. R. Fleming stated in /evidence that he had noticed Jones ; hanging round the town doing noth5 : ing and he had advised accused to get r a job. Defendant had left the town (l for a short time and when he re- , turned, witness had kept him under observation. Accused had asked at a least three people for money. He had ,no means of support and was not . working nor was he registered under L. the Social Security Act. He had been ; | convicted previously for vagrancy. I Accused addressed the Court and dcJ dared that he had only been out of a gaol for a month and had not had 5 much opportunity of finding work. He was convicted and sentenced to .. one month’s imprisonment. * £1 17s 6d; lot of ditto, for £2 2s 6d; two small shackles for Bs. Twenty-six wicker coal baskets rea- .
