CRICKET ARRANGEMENTS

WANGANUI ASSOCIATION PRACTICE NIGHTS SET It was decided that Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays should be the net practice nights for clubs, at a meeting of the Management Committee of the Wanganui Cricket Association this week. Technical College will 'nave the use of the ground on Thursday afternoons, however, subject to the approval of the Grounds Committee, thus leaving the ground free for the athletes and cyclists on Thursday evenings. On Cook’s Gardens play will start at 1.45 p.m. and end at 6.30, with an interval of a quarter of an hour for afternoon tea in each game. The draw for Saturday is: United v. Technical College, on Cook's Gardens No. 1; Wanganui v. Marist, on Cook's Gardens No. 2; Technical Old Boys v. Collegiate School, on Collegiate School ground. The tea inteivai on No. 2 wicket will be from 3.45 to 4 p.m. and that on No. 1 wicket from 4 to 1.15 p.m. It was reported that a suo-com-mittee had met a committee of the Wanganui City Council concerning the terms on which Cook’s Gardens would be available for cricket, on Sundays. One of the conditions was that play was not. to start, till 11.30 a.m. The Wanganui Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club advised its readiness to co-operate with the association in making Cook’s Gardens available for Sunday games by limiting Sunday training and asked for the association’s assistance in leaving Cook’s Gardens free for (he twilight sports meetings on Thursdays. The Wellington Cricket Tssociation forwarded particulars of the arrangements for its junior cricket week over the Christmas and New' Year holidays, and asked that a team be entered from Wanganui. The letter was referred lo the Junior Advisory Board. The Welingtoii Cricket Association advised that the annual conference between representatives of the minor associations in its district and representatives of its Management Committee would be held in Wellington on November 6.
