THE EGG MARKET
lAW OF SUPPLY AND DEMAND TO OPERATE [ Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 25. A promise that in future the law of supply and demand will operate in the egg market and that producers can anticipate a hardening of prices in the near future was made by the Director ot Internal Marketing, Mr. F. Picot, in answer to representations by a deputation from the New Zealand Poultry Board. This was disclosed when the deputation reported to a meeting of the board in Wellington to-day. The board contended that decreased production and lower turnover made the price fixed by the Price Control Regulations as that ruling on September 1 no longer economic. It was stated by the deputation that Mr. Picot said that he had already discussed the position with the Price Tribunal and there would be no difficulty in that direction.
