MANGAWEKA NOTES

C ENTENNIAL MEETING A meeting of the Mangaweka Centennial Celeorations Committee was he'd in the Rest Room on Wednesday evening. The lollowing members were elected to the committee: Misses V. Knight and D. Collis and Mr. R. Harding. Il was proposed and carried that the celebrations take the form of a procession of decorated vehicles, etc.. a picnic and some form of evening entertainment. Subscription lists have been opened and all citizens are asked to contribute liberally as finance is needed to make this effort a success. The matter of holding a dance to raise funds was held over until next meeting. Meetings were arranged to be held fortnightly, the next one to be held on October 25. The public are requested to attend the meetings in full force. Mr. C. Oulsnam donated a handsome box of chocolates and Mrs. C. Travis a cushion to raise funds. It was decided to approach the police for a permit to run a raffle.
