Forecast.—Winds: North to west prevailing, strong at times from Cook Strait southwards, with gales in some exposed positions; otherwise moderate in force. A south-westerly change is possible in the far south to-morrow. Seas (N.Z. waters): Becoming rough south of Capo Egmont and about Cook Strait; slight to moderate elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong north-west to west winds, seas moderate in the north and rough in the south. Weather: Rain probable in the western and southern portions of the South Island and extending gradually' up the western districts possibly as far as the King Country; elsewhere fair to fine but showers probable later in Canterbury.
