APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSES OTICE is hereby given that pursuant to the provisions of the Industry Licensing (Fish Retailing) Notice 1939, all persons who are engaged ir the above industry arc required to obtain licenses from the Bureau of Industry to continue carrying on the industry on and after the Ist January. 1940. The above Notice further requires that such applications must be lodged with the Bureau of Industry on or before the Ist November, 1939. Application forms may be obtained from the office of the Department of Industries and Commerce at. Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. In the above-mentioned Licensing Notice—- “ Fish” includes every species of fish and shell-fish found in New Zealand waters, except trout and oysters; and includes such fish, whether fresh, fresh-frozen, smoked or cooked, but does not include such fish when preserved in can's, jars, or other hermetically sealed containers or when dried and salted; or when comprised in a meal served in a restaurant for consumption on the premises; or if smoked when sold by a person whose business docs not consist for the greatei part ’ i the retail 'sale of fish; and the term “Sale” (without prejudice to the generality thereof) includes sale by auction and sale by hawking.
