SUCCESSFUL CONCERT
GARRISON BAND AND SPORTS BODIES LAST NIGHT'S PROGRAMME Oustanding success crowned the concert presented in the Opera House before a large audience last night by the Wanganui Garrison Band and combined sports bodies. ; A particularly warm reception was j accorded the haka parly of the Wan-1 ganui Savage Club, lead by Mr. A. I Phillips. Other well-received items' were songs in character by Shirley Smith, a tap ballet by Miss Eva Matthew's pupils, banjo and piano duets by Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Bensel, a dance duo by Miss Matthews anil Mr. G. Allen, euphonium solos by Mr. O. Williams, and tap-dancing by tMiss .1. Turner. The Premier Novelty Band was featured In popular items, and the Garrison Band earned hearty applause with its presentation ot “Boomps-a-Daisy” and other enjoyable pieces.
