SOLAR ECLIPSE
FAILURE AS SPECTACLE. I CLOUDY IN WELLINGTON. [ Per Prcs.i Association.] WELLINGTON, Oct. 13. The partial eclipse of the sun to-day was a failure as a spectacle in Wellington, only occasional glimpses being obtainable through the clouds. That it was taking place at all probably escaped the notice of many people. Anything approaching a detailed observation was denied to the Carter . Observatory.
