HEALTH CAMPAIGN

SALE GF STAMPS STARTING ON MONDAY I In spite of the extra cost, it is hoped that this year's campaign in Wanganui for the sale of stamps for the children's health camps of the Dominion will be no Jess successful than the last. The stamps will be on sale at all post offices from Monday next. They will be issued in two denominations of 3d and lid. Owing to the recent increase in the postal rates, and the fact that the special stamps were printed before the decision to i increase the rates was made they have , had to be overprinted with the , amount of the additional charge. That [ intended as an issue of a penny stamp now becomes a 3d stamp and two- > pence of the charge is for postage and i one penny for health camp purposes. Similarly the id stamp becomes a ’ lid stamp, the penny being for post-* ' ag? and the id for health funds. • The stamps are attractively printed in green for the lid and the usual rod [ for the 3d stamp, and the design is that of three boys engaged in beach . games and they are shown reaching ; up to catch a beach ball, on which the word “Health" is inscribed. In the campaign for the 1938-39 Dominion was £7026 17s 2d. of which of health stamps throughout the Dominion was ££7,026 17s 2d, of which Wanganui contributed about £230.
