HERD TESTING. NEW SCHEME EXPLAINED (Own Correspondent.> TAIHAPE. July 19. "We propose to carry on with lhe herd testing. We had Mr. Hume here last anual meeting, and one group was formed in this district," stated Mr. D. Proceeding, Mr. Stent said that when the herd tester had finished testing herds he had canvassed the district for more herds with the result that another group was formed. Those dairy farmers who arc desirous of having their herds tested can rest assured that the testing will be done just as well as in the past bui it may be a little more costly, but I wish to point out. that the Taihape Dairy Company will grant a subsidy of Is 6d per cow for herd testing," declared the speaker, who added that the losses amongst dairy herds at the present time were simply appalling.
