GROUP TRAVEL MOVEMENT
TO BE Ol I K lALIA INAIGIRATED ( Per Press Association.) TIMARU, July 18. The group travel movement, which originated in Timaru with thp idea of encouraging people to see the beauties of their own country, has made considerable progress in recent months, large numbers of tours to various parts of the South Island having been conducted. A Group Travel Association has now been form?d and it is hoped that the scheme will be *urth?r extjnded by the co-operation of the District Council’s of Physical Welfare in the South Island, th? Employers' Association, Manufacturers’ Association, Chambers of Commerce, and tourist and travel interests. Representatives of these organisations have been invited to meet the Minister of Internal Affairs, who secs in the scheme one of the best means of achieving the objectives of the Physical Welfare Recreation Act, in Christchurch on August 3, when the scheme will be officially inaugurated.
