FATE OF YACHT

CHATHAM ISLANDS ANXIETY i Pet Pless Association.) WELLINGTON. Jul,\ 17. A radio message received by the Director-General of the Wellington Post Office this morning from the superintendent of the Chatham Islands radio station, staled that the captain of the trawler South Sea reported that, the yacht Faith, with a crew of three, left the trawler on the north coast late on Saturday night during a west-south-west to westerly gale, and had not yet returned. Land patrols were searching the coast in the proximity of the trawler’s position. Continuous radio connection was being made with the South Sea, and a warning had been broadcast to 1 shipping to keep a look-out for the yacht. The message was timed as being sent from Chatham Islands at 9.54 a.m. to-day. A Press Association message from Christchurch states that the Faith is owned by W. Marsh, of Christchurch, and had been fishing at the ; island for some months. Those on board when she parted company with the South Sea were: Marsh, his brother. J. Marsh, and Roy Hough, a Chatham Islander. The Faith was built in Christchurch by Marsh and early this year made a tri:? from Lyttelton to the Chatham Islands and back. She is a stoutly built craft of the sea-going type and similar in design to Erling Tambs’ famous Teddy. tinual sthruggle to catch up. It. is not worth it. Enjoy a peaceful season by getting the chicks out to time. For such chicks inspire hope, pride and enthusiasm and you cannot succeed without these.
