Assembly of New/ Zealand at Ihe preI sent sittings thereof a Bill to be en- | titled The Wanganui Harbour Dislrict I and Empowering Amendment Act. 1939. The objects which the Bill is intended to effect are: 1. To authorise the Wanganui Har- | bour Board to borrow a sum or; j sums of money not exceeding ’ I £25,000 for the following purposes: ! I (a) Extending No. 1 Wharf at i Castlecliff, the completion of the Meuli Wharf, and the provision of suitable moorings for the Board's floating plant. (b> Dredging operations and the provision of :■ pipe lino in connection therewith and erection of I shell rock wall and reclamation in connection with such dredging. | (c) Providing additional shed acj commodation at Castlecliff and I incidental I hereto. (d) Payment of Engineering { charges and contingencies. 1 (c) Payment, of the cost and expenses incurred in connection with the borrowing of such moneys including the cost of preparing (he Special Roll and of taking the poll of the ratepayers. I (I) The cost of promoting the said Act. 2. To provide for the annual instalI ments of principal and interest be-1 ing included in the Board's annual j estimate of expenditure in the event ! of the moneys being borrowed on ' Table Mortgage. j 3. To provide that on the taking of a ) I poll of ratepayers in The Wanganui i Harbour District, for. the purpose of raising such loan the provisions set out in Sections 3. 4, 5. and subsection (1) of Section 6 of The Wanganui Harbour District and Empowering Amendment Act 1923 relative to the preparation of a special roll and to the taking ol a ' poll and the application of the provisions of The Wanganui Harbour District and Empowering Act 1913 shall apply for the purposes of the intended Bill as if the same had been set out in full therein.
