The 1938-39 season was one of the worst experienced in the Fordell district for a number of years, the spring was very late, and after January an abnormal drought set in which very adversely affected butterfat returns. In spite of these conditions the herd averaged 2951b5. butterfat in 253 days. The herd has been milked by the owner and has had the best of attention. there being no unsound cows.
