WANGANUI PRESIDENT’S COLUMN FARM RELIEF IN U.S.A. In the first section on this subject of the Farmers’ Union column in yesterday's paper, the word ‘'dollars" crept in by accident under the heading "Pledged Bales.’’ The position is that the U.S. Government holds loans outstanding on cotton to the extent of 558 million dollars against which it has security over 111 millions bales of cotton, valued on to-day's artificially high internal price at approximately the amount of the advances thereon.
