Forecast. Winds: bight to fresh southerly to westerly predominating. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits and on the west coast of the North Island, otherwise slight to moderate but with a southerly swell on the east coast south of East Cape. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate southerly winds and moderate seas, with a change to freshening north-westerlies probably advancing over the southern portion after about 24 hours. Weather: Fine at first in the western districts south of Taranaki, otherwise changeable with occasional showers and lair at intervals. Cold temperatures. The New Zealand Friends' School.
