TAMPERING WITH LAMP
SAFETY IN MINES MAN BEFORE COURT I Per Press Association I GREYMOUTH, July 17. In the Magistrate’s Court, Thomas Brown was fined £3 for damaging -- safety lamp issued to him in the Dobson mine. Counsel for the company said de--1 fendant was seen tampering with the I lamp. The safety of more than 100 men was endangered as a result of defendant’s foolish action. Mr. S. Ferner, S.M., described the offence as serious. He could not remember dealing with a similar case.
