WINS FOR AUSTRALIANS
SURF RACES AT HONOLULU NAKAMA BEATS BIDDULPH. Received July 17, 7.5 p.m. HONOLULU, July 17. The open water regatta was held to-day. In the half-mile Nakama (Japan) overcame the Australian Biddulph’s lead at the three-quarter mark and won by 20 yards in 12min. 40isec. Peter Powlison (Honolulu) was third, Hirosi, Maui was fourth and Ririe (Canada' fifth. Jack May (Honolulu) won the halfmile surfboard race, with Russell 30 yards behind, second, and Chapple third. The Australians won the surfboat race, of three-quarters of a mile, from a local crew by a 20 yards' margi.t. In the four-man one-mile surfboard relay the Australians overcame a seemingly insurmountable lead and won by 40 yards from two local teams. Th» relay team was Chapple, Borman, Morath and Russell.
