Meteorological Office, Wellington, Monday, June 19, 3 p.m. General Situation.—A fairly deep depression is advancing slowly from the west on to the .North Island, while a less intense one is located in the south Tasman Sea. Forecast.—Winds: Moderate Io strong easterly to northerly, reaching gale force in some exposed positions north of Nelson- and Marlborough, changing later to south-westerly in the north and to southeasterly in the central portion of the country. Seas (New' Zealand waters): Rough north of East Cape and rising north of Greymouth and Kaikoura, elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate northerly winds and moderate seas in the southern portion, otherwise strong easterly to northerly winds advancing from the west. Weather: Continuing fair in the southern half of the South Island, otherwise dull and in places misty, with general rain. Heavy falls probable in the North Island, but conditions improving later in the far north. Cold in the south, mild in the north, but becoming cooler to-morrow.
