BULLS Mr. and Mrs. J. Preston, of Ashburton, have been spending their holidays with relatives in Bulls. Mesdames Amon and Stevens and Miss Amon have returned from Auckland. A number of. the younger set wont over to Palmerston on Saturday to attend the wedding of Mr. Ted Broughton, of Bulls. Mr. and Mrs. Wallc who are leaving shortly for Vv .., were tendered a farewell cek by Parewanui residents. Mi. Hart was honorary secretary of the Parewanui School Committee and both he and Ws. Hart took an active interest in social affairs of the district. There is a good deal of sickness here at present and amongst those confined to their beds are Messrs. J. B. Signal and H. H. C. Holland. Both are reported to be progressing favourably, their many friends will be pleaded to hear. MANGAVYEKA Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Warrilow have returned from a visit to Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Dalgety, Kawiiatau. are visiting Australia. Mrs. M. Reid, Eltham, paid a short visit to Mangaweka, looking up old friends. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Bailey, Kawhatau, are spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs. J. H. Dalrymple is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. G. Gr f i. Kawhatau, are spending a few da;>.> in Marton. Miss V. Knight, is visiting her brother, Mr. S. Knight, Apiti. Mrs. Brien, Raetihi, who has been . the guest of Mrs. F. Noble, has now returned home. PA TEA. Among the Palea visitors in Wellington for the Kettles—Paterson wedding to-day are Mrs. R. Bourne and little Marlene Bourne (who is to be flower-girl), Mrs. E. Oakley, Miss Leslie Wainright (a bridesmaid), Mr. and Mrs. J. Kettles sen., Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kettle.'?, Mrs. G. Garrick, Messrs. Jim Gibbs and Pat Bourke. Mrs. S. Mcßae, and Mr. R. Mcßae have returned from Rotorua. Miss M. F etcher, Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. J. Haarer. Friends of Mrs. M. A. Hoult. Wellington, daughter of Mrs. E. McKenna. Patea, will be interested to hear she has twin sons. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. W. Marshall, will be interested to learn they have a wee son. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Fraser are on a short visit Io Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Haddow arc in Wellington for a few days. Mrs. T. E. Roberts has returned from Wellington. MARTON Advice was received in Marton on Monday afternoon that Mr. Bert Moore, of Marton, passed away just after noon on Monday in the Wanganui Hospital. Mr. Moore had been ill for some time and recently gave up his taxi service because of his health. About ten days ago he was admitted to Wanganui Hospital with pneumonia. A wife and a daughter, Phyllis, arc eft Io mourn the loss of a loving husoand and lather.
