VIOLINCELLO-SONG RECITAL

TALENTED MUSICIANS The violinccllo and song recital i given on Saturday evening by Miss Joan Cranstone, L.T.C.L., of Fordell, and Miss Margaret Feist, L.T.C.L., L.R.S.M., and Miss Thelma Boniface, of Palmerston North, was attended by a large number of music lovers. The stage in St. Paul's Hall was tastefully arranged with three large bowls of chrysanthemums, berries and autumn tinted foliage. The beautiful grand piano was kindly loaned by Mrs. H. D. Robertson. In thanking Mrs. Robertson on behalf of the artists, Mrs. Hamilton Dickson said it was a wonderful gesture on her part. Miss Cranstone (’cellist) wore an old world styled frock of shot taffeta in soft fuchsia shades, with short full puff eel sleeves. Miss Feist (mezzo-soprano), was in a pale blue floral satin frock worn under a lace redingote of deep azure blue shade, fastened at' the waist with a diamante clasp. Miss Boniface chose a Victorian frock of rose pink taffeta with tiny garlands of ribbons and flowers on the full skirt. Miss Decima Hughson and Mr. Hamilton Dickson were the accompanists. Miss Hughson was wearing a frock of arcadian green taffeta with short puff sleeves and full skirt. At the conclusion of the concert, the artists were presented with boxes of flowers. The recitai was a delightful one and the audience very appreciative of the musical numbers presented. Noticed in the audience were:—Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Cranstone, Messrs.
