Miss Joan Webster and Miss B Campbell were visitors to Hastings yesterday for the Hardy—Morrir wedding. Mrs. I. D. McDonald, St. John’s Hill is visiting Hastings for the Hardy— Morrin wedding. Miss Ethel Braisford has returnee to Wanganui after spending a holiday at Dunedin and Christchurch. * * • • Mrs. C. J. Lockie, Hastings, Mrs A. K. Furrie, Marton, spent the weekend with Mrs. I. D. Cork, who has left tc reside at Marton, was entertained at farewell parties, among recent hostesses being Mesdames H. D. Robertson, R. A. Hewat and T. Hine. Miss A. Kane, Wellington, Dominion president of Women’s Institutes, is visiting Wanganui, and was the speaker at the annual carnival of the Wanganui Federation of Women's Institutes. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Hardwick, of England, were recently the guests ol Mrs. A. H. E. Wall, Campbell Street. Mr. Hardwick was a teacher at the Wanganui Collegiate School for several years prior to the Great War. Visitors to Wanganui for the Michie —Dawes wedding to-day include Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Burston, of Flock House; Mr. and Mrs. W. Dawes, of Normanby; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Prankerd Eltham; and Mrs. Grantham, of Hawera. Mrs. J. Scanlon and Miss M. Scanlon, of Argyle Street, have returned home after a very happy holiday, spent at the Mount, Tauranga. Before returning home, Mrs. and Miss Scanlon were the guests of Mrs. M. J. Campbell, Training College, Hamilton. Lieutenant A. J. Dent, R.N., and Miss Diana Buxton, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Buxton, of London, were married recently in Bromton Oratory, London. The bride, who is a niece of the Countess of Orford, visited the Dominion last year when Lieutenant Dent was stationed in New Zealand in H.M.S. Achilles. Lady Anne Walpole was one of the bridesmaids at the wedding. At Chelsea Old Church, on March 25, the wedding took place of Miss Gwendoline Richards, of Auckland, and Ewan Harkness, of London, formerly of Nelson and Auckland. Mr. Harkness is chief town-planning assistant to Aiderman the Rt. Hon Ewart G. Culpin, chairman of the London County Council, and chairman of the Greater London Regional Planning Committee. Immediately before her wedding, the bride spent a few days in Paris, travelling by air. Their home will be in Chelsea.
