WAVERLEY. Mrs. Hamilton and Miss Joyce Luke and Mr. F. Johnston are visitors to Wellington, where Mr. Johnston is attending a dairy conference. Misses Ruby Dallison and Estelle Hammond are visiting Wanganui as he guests of Mrs. R. M. Hammond. Mr. Alex Alexander has returned from a tour in Australia. Mrs. W. Matthews has returned from a short holiday spent in Wellington. Mr. J. Dunn has returned from a holiday trip to Australia. Miss Molly Walker is visiting Taunarunui, where she is the guest of Mrs. Easton. TAIHAPE. The resignation of Miss M. E. Codling, a member of the staff of the Taihape District High School, was accepted with regret at Mo/iday’s meeting of the Taihape School Committee. Miss Codling has been appointed to aschool in the Nelson district. Miss Speedy, who is also on the staff of the Taihape School, has been transferred to Horopito. Miss E. Murray, of Kimbolton, who has been spending a few days with friends at Moawhango, has returned home. At Monday’s meeting of the management committee of the Taihape Rugby Union the president, Mr. John Quirk, moved that appreciation of the services rendered by the retiring secretary (Mr. D. Kelly), the retiring treasurer (Mr. H. D. Bond) and the honorary auditor (Mr. J. Graham) be recorded in the minutes. The motion was seconded by Mr. A. Smith and carried by acclamation. Messrs. A. McDonald and G. Guilliard were elected members of the Taihape Fire Brigade at the last meeting. Mr. R. Kilkolly has been ele-.l.ed president of the Taihape Hockey Association, and Mr. R. tary. OHAKEA. Mr. and Mrs. J. Wightman, senr., of “Cliff Farm,” have returned home after spending two weeks’ holiday in Auckland. Mrs. E. Hazeldine-Barber, of Ngatea, Hauraki Plains, is staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. J.’ Frecklington, “Homewood." Mr. and Mrs. W. Richards, of Auckland, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. Simpson. Mrs. R. Anderson, accompanied by her two daughters, Mysie and Frances, has left on a holiday tour of the Auckland districts. Mrs. W. Robinson has returned home from a holiday spent in Auckland. The many friends of Mrs. H. Mansell will regret, to learn she is ill again. Mr. Menzie has returned home from a week-end spent in New Plymouth. Messrs. L. Simpson and A. Young have returned home after spending the week-end at Taupo trout fishing. BULLS. Mr. N. H. Amos, postmaster, has returned from annual leave. Mr. F. Cutts senr., town clerk, spent his holidays in Hawke’s Bay. Miss Fox, who lived in Bulls for some years, but now resides in Napier, is visiting friends here. Sympathy is felt for Messrs. F. A. and H. H. C. Holland, whose mother died in Wanganui this week. At lhe annual meeting of the Utiku branch of the W.D.F.U. a presentation of a cigarette case and pocket wallet was made to Mr. O'Connor in appreciation of his services as honorary auditor. Mrs. O’Connor accepted the gift with thanks on behalf of Mr. O'Connor. PATEA Miss E. Lavery is holidaying in Wellington. ___
