DEPUTATION WAITS ON HON. W- E. PARRY GRANT WANTED FOR EQUIPMENT [ Per Press WELLINGTON, April 19. A deputation of sports bodies waited on the Hon. W. E. Parry seeking grants to provide full equipment for the instruction of gymnastic and other physical work. It is stated there is a growing manifestation of the need for higher training among young people, notably those connected with swimming. football, and athletic clubs. Mr. Parry said it was to get the young man and woman to realise what it meant to have a fine physique that was the foundation of the movement they had underway. The Minister stated that a growing number of organisations was undertaking the work of moral and physical welfare of young people and the advantage of being linked up with the Physical Welfare and Recreation Department was recognised by the promoters.
