ON THE RIFLE RANGE

KIWITEA ASSOCIATION’S ANNUAL FIXTURE . (Own Correspondent). KIMBOLTON, April 18. The Kiwitea Rifle Association held its annual fixture on the Kimbolton range on Saturday, when a representative selection of riflemen competed for the various events. Riflemen came from a wide district and had a good day’s sport. Ideal conditiO'Ds prevailed, although the light became poor towards the close of the afternoon. Some good scores were registered, that of J. Paterson, veteran rifleman from the Wanganui Club, being especially notable, 104 out of a possible 105. Catering arrangements were successfully carried out by the members of the Kimbolton branch of the Women’s Institute, under the direction of Mrs. Barnicoat. Credit is due to lhe association committee for the smooth manner in which the meeting was conducted. At the end of the day’s shooting the championship belt was presented by Mr. A. Stackhouse, who is known locally as the “father" of lhe Kimbolton Rifle Club. The results were:— Rangiwahia Match, 300yds.—J. Paterson (Wanganui) 35, H. Meads (Bulls) 35, F. Soler (Wanganui) 34, P.
