PATEA PLUNKET SOCIETY

NURSE’S REPORT FOR FEBRUARY Mrs. R. W. Haddow presided at a meeting of the Patea Plunket Society last week and introduced Miss Grieve, who had taken Miss Tompkins’ place as Plunket nurse, to committee members. After reading her report, the Plunket nurse asked permission to close the rooms at 4 p.m. instead of 4.30 p.m. The resignation of Mrs. and Miss Pearce was accepted with sincere regret, the secretary being asked to write a letter of appreciation to them. Mrs. Nelson presented the house; committee’s report in which several matters required attention. Thanks i were tendered the committee for their; attention to the report. Nominations for officers for the annual meeting took place. It was decided to keep in view a function for Founder’s Day. Mrs. Haddow gave a short talk or the recent general conference. The Plunket nurse, Miss Grieve, reported for February that Patea babies on the books were 99, older children 84. at outstations 112 babies and 118 older children. New cases at Patea were six monthers and six babies; at outsations six mothers and six babies. Visits to Patea homes 15 old, 17 new; to outsations 12 old, one new. Visits to Patea rooms 103 adults, 91 babies, 23 older children; outsation rooms 128 adults, 103 babies, 51 older children. Total visits to rooms 499. Health of mothers and babies mostly good. One premature infant of 41b 4oz sent to Patea Hospital until satisfactory. Those present were Mesdames C. P. Bates, Hazeltine, T. Nelson, J. Petersen, R. M. Stevens, G. Pettigrew, G. Macken, L. T. Adams, R. Hunger, C. S. Martin, T. E. Roberts, R. Mays, D. A. B. Smiles, T. Anderson, J. N. Anderson and L. Honeyfield (secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames Bostock and Austin.
