PIPIRIKI WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

I’RST MONTHLY MEETING The first of- the monthly meetings held by the Pipiriki Women’s Institute (Maori and pakeha combined) opened under ideal conditions in the Pipiriki Hall. The Ode of Friendship opened the meeting, followed by the roll call, “Tales of the Wanganui River,” many stirring tales being told. The competition for homemade jam was judged by Mesdames Darnill and Wright. A very inspiring address was given by Sister Dobbs, a visiting candidate, on her visits to many institutes. A demonstration of weaving was given by Mrs. Gray. The duties or hostess were very ably carried out by Mesdames Albert and Keepi, and a very enjoyable afternoon was broughi to a close.
