LADIES’ BASEBALL
“AMAZONS” CLUB The recently formed "Amazons" Baseball Club have a most enthusiastic membership and for the past two weeks have been hard at practice under the coaching of the members of Mcrewethers Club. Last week-end a representative team chosen from the two Taihape ladies’ teams journeyed to Wanganui and met the "Amazons" for the first game of ladies’ baseball in Wanganui. The game resulted in a win for “Amazons," the score beng 18 to 10. Judging from the form shown by the Taihape and Wanganui teams, ladies’ baseball next season should be on a very high level. The visitors were entertained at afternoon tea at the Virginia Lake kiosk and a very enjoyable time was spent. The "Amazons" hope to pay a return visit to Taihape after Easter.
