DEATH SENTENCE CARRIED OUT
FRENCH NAVAL SECRETS BETRAYED (Independent Cable Service.) PARIS, March b. Marc Aubert, aged 26, a sub-licu-|tenant in the cruiser Vauquelin, was ■ executed by a firing squad. ' He was sentenced to death in January by a court-martial in Toulon for i betraying naval secrets to a foreign i Power. I Marie Jeanne Morel, aged 27, who was accused of complicity, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, and a sum of £lOO which she and Aubert, allegedly received from Germany, was confiscated. It was stated that Aubert sold plans for the mobilisation of the Mediterranean Fleet during the September crisis, for £4BO.
