CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES OVER PLAY-OFF NECESSARY PENDING SELECTION OF A REPRESENTATIVE TEAM. The championship games played by the Wanganui Baseball Association were compiled last Saturday. It only lemains now for the selector, Mr. C. H. Bensel, to do an excellent job in , selecting a strong Wanganui representative team for the New Zealand championships, which are to be held in Wellington on March 25. It is believed that entries have been received from Dunedin, Christchurch. Masterton, Auckland, and Wellington, as well as Wanganui. The Wellington Association is endeavouring to have the full day’s play relayed through Station 2ZB. The following are the winners in the various League and Cup sections in Wanganui. Moa League. Star A and Pirates tie for the Bensel Shield. These two teams wili have to play a deciding game which has been fixed for Saturday, March 11, at Gonville Domain at 2 p.m. Huia League. Watersiders B top the list with j three wins. The other three teams, P and T., Harrier B and Star B, tie for runners-up, all scoring one win each. Kiwi League. United are the winners in this League with two clear wins, and one win from a default. Merewethers were the runners-up. Dustin Cup. Sash and Door win with 56 points. Star A are runners-up with 50 points. Possibles v. Probables. The following players have been selected to play a Possibles v. Probables match on Saturday at 3.30 p.m. on Gonville ground No. 1; Possibles (Black).—Ansill, catcher; Mclntyre, first base; Sisson, second base; Murch, third base; Temperton, short stop; Stinson, rover; Sherlock, left field; Hean, centre field; S. Green, right field; Maitland and Croucher, pitchers. Probables (White)—Shand, catcher; Winnington, first base; Kennedy, second base; Sutton, third base; P. Green, rover; B.
