RANGITIKEI SCHOOLS’ SPORTS

MARTON PARK THIS AFTEBNOON The annual sports meeting of the Rangitikei Schools’ Sports Association will be held on the Marton Park this (Wednesday) afternoon, commencing at 12.30 p.m. Representatives of 12 schools will be competing and the following schools will take part in the competition for the Peace Shield— Marton District High School (two teams), Marton Junction, Hunterville and Turakina. The Morris Shield will be competed for by South Makirikiri, Parewanui, Mount View, Porewa. Western Rangitikei and Convent. Refreshments and afternoon tea will be available on the grou-nd and the prices of admission are adults 6d, children 3d.

RATA-PUTORINO W.D.F.U. FLOWER SHOW The annual dahlia, gladioli and aster show under the auspices of the RataPutorino branch of the W.D.F.U. will be held in the Rata Coronation Hall on Wednesday, March 15, opening at 2 p.m. Entries close on the morning of the show and must be staged by 11.30 a.m. Schedules can be obtained on application to Mrs. K. A. Raine, hon. secretary, Rata. MARTON CIVIC THEATRE “LITTLE TOUGH GUY” Right off the front page of a daily paper came the elements for one of the most important sequences in the Universal picture, “Little Tough Guy,” which will be finally screened this afternoon and evening at the Civic Theatre.
