FORDELL CARNIVAL CHAMPIONS IN ACTION RECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED. Ten New Zealand champions and more than 50 leading swimmers from all parts of the Dominion competed in the Fordell Swimming Club's carnival at the Gonville Baths on Saturday night before an attendance of 1500 spectators. FRIENDS’ SCHOOL TWELVE RECORDS BROKEN The weather was perfect for the New Zealand Friends' School's annual swimming sports last Saturday. The events were witnessed by a large gathering of parents and friends. The standard of swimming was good, which is evidenced by the fact that although twelve records were broken many of the finishes were extremely close. At the conclusion of the programme the cups were presented by Mrs. Turner, of Kawhia. Mrs. Turner’s children were very good performers In the water some years ago and her father, Mr. Alfred Goldsbury, I was one of the principal workers in raising the £6OO to build the school! swimming bath in 1931.
