CHARGE AGAINST MAORI
COMMITTED FOR TRIAL MARTON, March 3. In th. Magistrate's Court, this morning, before Messrs. A. C. M. Parkinson and A. J. B. Sicely, J’s.P., Rupuha Ashford, a native, was charged with unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl between the ages of 12 and 10 years, on or about January 30, 1939, at Ratana Pa. After evidence by Dr. W. S. D. Dick. Gerard van Beck, Minnie Hohepa Pine. Harry Tai Tumu, Heene Pine, Hanairo Tai Humu, and William Raymond Fell, accused, whose counsel, Mr. C. F. Treadwell (Wanganui) entered a plea of not guilty, was committed for trial to the Supreme Court, Palmerctnn North
