CHAMPION STATE EIGHTS Received Feb. 5, 7.30 p.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 4. The ’ season's most important rowing race at the Nepean River regatta on Saturday, the State Champion Eights, was won by the Haberfield crew by one length from the Pittwater crew, which was second. The police crew was third. The titleholders, North Shore, finished fifth. Time. 17min. 18sec. Haberfield also won the maiden fours (one mile) and the lightweight maiden fours (mile). The lightweight champion fours was won by Balmain after a re-row with Mosman, with whom they had tied. The surprise result was the heavyweight champion sculls won by C. Peiyce, who beat the police champion. Herb Turner, by 20 lengths in 20min. 41 3-ssec.
