HAWKE'S BAY WEDDING

ORMOND—HERRICK A wedding of wide interest was celebrated at St. John's Cathedral, Napier, on Wednesday afternoon, when Una Constance, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Herrick, “Tautane,” Herbertville, was married to Walcott Eyre Wilder, third son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Ormond, Wallingi ford, Waipukurau. The ceremony was performed by Dean Brocklehurst, who was assisted by the Rev. A. M. Niblock, vicar of Porangahau. Masses of hydrangeas and white gladioli decorated the church. The bride’s gown of ivory stiffened slipper satin was embroidered with pearls down the centre front, on tlic ends of the long sash, which tied at the back, and on the wrists of the sleeves. The full skirt with its graceful long train was gathered at the waist. Her exquisite veil of ivory tulle-was held in place with a circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of pearly white gladioli. Lovely frocks of hydrangea blue chiffon, mounted on taffeta, were worn by the six maids attending the bride Miss Christina Williams, Frimley, Hastings; Miss Rachel Rouiston, Timaru; Miss Jacquline Ormond, sister of the bridegroom; Miss Barbara Herrick, cousin of the bride; Miss Barbara Birch, Masterton; ana Miss Rosamond Riddiford, Featherston, cousin of the bride. Coronets of flowers in fuchsia tonings were worn, matching the sprays which they carried. Mr. John Ormond attended his brother as best man. Guests from all parts of New Zealand were,, present. Hydrangeas, zinnias, and dahlias • were charmingly arranged and made colourful decorations in the large marquee erected in the lovely grounds of the home of Miss Ruth Herrick, Lighthouse Road, Napier, where the reception was held, the guests being received byMr. and Mrs. F. D. Herrick. The health of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by Mr. D. H. S. Riddiford, of Featherston. The honeymoon will be spent on a motor tour of the North and South Islands.
