Mr. T. A. Harpur, Wellington, is visiting his parents, Dr. and ’Mrs. T. G. Harpur, at Marton. The Hon. Charles Molesworth, of Coddenham, Suffolk, is a passenger on the Rimutaka, which is expected at Auckland on January 12, from London. Mr. T. A. Edmeades, a retired London bank officer, arrived at Auckland by the Narkunda on Saturday to make a tour of New Zealand. This is his third visit to the Dominion in six years. Mr. J. Kane, chief Government audit inspector at Wanganui, has received notice of his transfer to New Plymouth. Mr. Kane has been stationed at Wanganui for several years, and is a very popular officer. Smith, of Jersey, was a passenger by the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s motor-vessel Waipawa, which arrived at Auckland on Monday from Liverpool. Colonel Smitn is making a round voyage on the Waipawa. Dr. C. Morice, of Wellington, returned to the Dominion by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s motorvessel Waipawa, on Monday, after spending five months in Britain. Dr. Morice was ship’s surgeon on the outward voyage of the Waipawa. Colonel H. H. Broome, a retired officer of the Indian Medical Service, arrived at Wellington on Saturday by the Napier Star, from England. Accompanied by Mrs. Broome, he intends to visit both the North and the South Islands for trout fishing. Mr. A. H. Cockayne, Director-Gen-eral of Agriculture, returned to Wellington on Saturday by the Napier Star after spending seven months in Australia, Canada and Great Britain investigating agricultural matters. Campbel], general manager of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, Limited, with headquarters at Christchurch, returned to the Dominin by the Shaw, Saviil and Albion Company's motor-vessel Waipawa after a six months’ visit to Britain. Colonel D. C. V. Fitzgerald, of the Indian Army Medical Corps and an honorary physician to the King, was a through passenger by the Narkunda over the week-end. Colonel Fitzgerald saw service in France and Mesopotamia during the Great War and next month he will complete 33 years’ service with the British Army. Mr. A. T. Donnelly, who was made a Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George in the New Zealand New Year honours list, began his education at the Rolvenden Preparatory School in the parish of Avonside, Christchurch. This school was conducted by Mrs. G. Hiorns, and her daughter, Miss Eleanor Hiorns, who now resides in Wanganui. Mr. Alan C. Browne, F.R.G.S., (he well-known artist and lecturer, who arrived in England from New Zealand recently after preparing two new illustrated lectures—one on the Tasman glacier region and the other on the North Island—has been lecturing in different parts of the country, says an English exchange. Mr. Browne had his headquarters in Wanganui last year.
