SECRET TRIAL IN GERMANY
ALLEGATIONS OF TREASON reported plot against HERR HITLER. BERLIN, Jan. 2. The secret trial of 20 persons charged with treason will be begun probably to-morrow. The Security Service, numbering 7000 members throughout Germany entrusted with the Fuhrer’s personal safety, is alleged to have unearthed ramifications of a plot against the regime, including the projected assassination of Herr Adolf Hitler and other leaders. Fifty people had already been sentenced. According to the indictment the accused drew lots to decide who would attempt to assassinate Herr Hitler. Stores, arms and explosives are alleged to have been secreted In various parts of Germany.
