SENIORS BEAT JUNIORS M. GUY SCORES 97 In a match, the highlight of which was a brilliant 97 by M. Guy, a Wanganui senior eleven beat the junior representatives on Cook’s Gardens yesterday by 87 runs on the first innings. The juniors batted first and due mainly to good scores by Gannon (35) and Ford (31), who put on a fourthwicket partnership of 76, compiled 120. Oliver, three for 19, and Guy, three for 23, returned the best bowling averages. The seniors’ innings realised 207, top-scorer being M. Guy whose 97 included nine fours. Oliver (31 retired), also batted well. Sanders, four for 24, took the bowling honours. Against the bowling of Dovi, Neale and Whiting, the juniors could compile only 89 in the second innings for the loss of eight wickets, Sanders (38), top-scoring. Juniors. First Innings. E.
