FROZEN MEAT TRADE
SHIPMENTS AND KILLINGS Shipments o£ meat from New Zealand during the period of October 1 to December 15, show decreases in the pork and frozen beef, and increases in mutton, chilled beef and boneless beef, the figures being as follow:
A decrease of 400,000 is shown in the killings of lambs for export during the period October 1 to December 15. Mutton killings were slightly less than those for the corresponding period of last year. Killings for export at all works from October 1 to December 15, those for the corresponding period of last year in parentheses, were as follow: Chilled beef (quarters), 29,981 (27,779); frozen beef (quarters), 12,745 (4376); wether mutton (carcases). 69,825 (66,597); ewe mutton (carcases), 10,744 (14,951); lamb (carcases), 1,040,609 (1,449,912); pork (porkers), carcases, 52,486 (73,337); pork (baconers), carcases, 66,845 (68,504); boneless beef (freight carcases), 74,901 (67,656); boneless bobby veal (carcases), 61,215 ( 68.261); ! sundries (carcases), 38,362 (40,532).
