LONDON MARKET REPORT The wholesale market for New Zealand butter in London has remained firm at 112 s a cwt. over the past week. This price is Is a cwt. above the previous week's closing level and is equal to the rate ruling at the corresponding date last year. The Press Association message from London on Thursday stated that New Zealand finest is quoted at 112 s a cwt. and unsalted at 116 s. Australian salted is quoted at 109 s a cwt., and unsalted at 112 s. The market for cheese is also firm, New Zealand white and coloured being quoted at 69s a cwt. Australian is quiet at white 64s 6d to 65s 6d and coloured at 65s 6d. Recent quotations and those of a year ago compare as follow:-

The present price of 112 s is equal to approximately 13.35 d a lb f.o.b. New Zealand ports, compared with the guaranteed price of 14.89 d a lb, f.o.b. The London equivalent of the guaranteed price is 124 s 3d a cwt. The equivalent price of cheese is about 7.87 d a lb f.0.b., compared with the guaranteed price of 8.42 d.
