At present, wool stockings are too expensive, but if the 18,000 women who are members of the association bought them the price would be sure to come down. The women of Australia must become ’woolly-minded,’ ” said Mrs. Evans. It was suggested after the conference that a pair of stockings should be specially woven in a pattern bearing the Royal crest and presented to the Duchess of Kent, on her arrival in Australia njjtf year.
