BLUE STAR LINE

THREE NEW MOTOR-SHIPS Three more large and powerful motor-ships are at present under construction for the New Zealand ano Australian cargo services of the Blue Star Line Limited. Two of the vessels,which are to be named Wellington Star and Auckland Star respectively are being built by Harland and Wolff Ltd., in Belfast. The Wellington Star will be delivered by the builders in July and the Auckland Star in September, 1939. The third ship, which is to be named Adelaide Star, will be completed in June or July, 1940. The vessels, though similar in size and appearance to the other motorvessels recently built for the Blue Star Line, will have engines of a greater horsepower than any so far installed in Blue Star Line ships employed in New Zealand and Australian trades. They are designed to give a service speed of 18 knots with an adequate reserve. The ships will be about 11,000 tons gross register, with I a length of approximately 530 ft., and I a beam of 70.4 feet, and will, as with all Blue Star Line vessels, be equipI ped to carry every class of refrigerat- ■ ed and general cargo.
