A depression covers the Tasman with low pressure centres in both the northern and southern portions. Forecast.—Winds: Moderate to strong north-east to northerly winds rising to gale force in some exposed positions. Seas (New Zealand waters): Becoming rather rough to rough in most parts. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong northerly winds reaching gale force in places; seas rather rough to rough. Weather: Fair to cloudy at first but becoming overcast with mist or fog at many places.
