AMATEUR TRIALS
FINALISTS FOUND REGENT THEATRE ENTERPRISE Finalists were found last night in the series of amateur trials conducted by the Regent Theatre, Wanganui. Five competitors are to appear in the finals: — Miss Z. Watts, Harry Lauder song. . Barrie Trussell, xylophone solo. Daisy Clark, violinist. Jacqueline Pudsey, sc<ng and dance. I P. Margetts, Chinese festival dance, i (The five are not placed in order of I merit.) | The theatre was packed when i audience and judges passed judgment ; on the 17 performers. The audience ! was very appreciative of the talent and voted for five to appear in the finals. The three judges (Mrs. T. L, Sperring, Mr. Neville James and Mr. J. R. Kennan) also made a selection, and, very happily, audience and judges coincided in naming the five who are to appear to enable the final ] selection to be made. s The first prize in the competition is j £lO and an engagement at 2ZB radio ' station, Wellington.
